Hi there! Today I have a very bright watercolored card to share with you all. I watercolored this using my favorite watercoloring medium- the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. More on that in a bit. It all started with one piece of white cardstock! Most of my cards always start out from white card stock. I rarely use patterned paper, even though I hoard it! I ADORE the Mondo Peony stamp set designed by my friend Julie. 🙂 The bold florals are so fun to color! I first created a mask by stamping the peony image onto some typing paper and then cut it out with my scissors. Then I stamped stamped the large peony once directly onto the card base with Unicorn White pigment ink, sprinkled on some white embossing powder and heat set.. I continued to stamp the image all over the card base with the help of the mask. I did this so I could stamp the large peony all over the card base with one image overlapping into the other. 🙂
Then it was time to watercolor… Let’s talk about the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers for a minute. These markers can be purchased individually or in sets. The sets come in 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 and even 80 count. These markers are amazing. They have a real brush tip, which makes them very unique… The key to using these markers is the paper! When I first got them, I tried them on various watercolored papers and they didn’t blend at all. I couldn’t figure out what all the hype was about. Then I tried it with BRISTOL paper. LIFE CHANGER, let me just tell you! Blends like butter! And the colors are amazing. You can totally create some wonderful masterpieces with just a few markers.
Once I watercolored the panel and adhered it to a card base, I die cut the “LOVE” from the Holiday Words die (see, it doesn’t have to be used for just holiday related projects), added some foam dimension and popped that word right back into place!
Big florals and Zig Color Real Brush Markers! What a combination! 🙂
Thanks for popping in today!!!!!
