I have always wanted window boxes on my home. Whenever I get to my forever home, rest assured I will have cute shutters and window boxes! Until then, window boxes on cards will have to do. When I saw the new stamps and dies from the latest Catherine Pooler release, I swooned! I have lots to share this week…. I had to immediately tear open the Outside your Window Stamp Set (two adorable shutters and a coordinating die that cuts AND scores) and Boxes of Blooms (window boxes, florals and coordinating dies)… I chose to create a card with the shutters closed. But wait. Check back with me this week here on the blog for another project with a different way to use the shutters or head to Catherine’s blog and see these shutters wide open on some other designers projects….
The sentiment called to me. Especially during these weird times…… And do you see that background there? I stamped with the brand new Flower Burst cover die. (I have a video coming soon all about this technique).
I used the same cover die and sprayed thru it to create that misted background (more on this technique in an upcoming video). Instead of using the window box image, I decided to make a bouquet of flowers by stamping and then hand drawing in a leaf and stem. And clear stamps are so versatile! I just arched it on my acrylic block and stamped it.
And last, a rainbow to brighten your day. Well, rainbow colors. I die cut the cover plate die onto some cardstock and used it as a stencil. Used a ton of ink from the Party Collection ink line.
And this card was a ghost print. Meaning I took the home made stencil I was using, spritzed it with water and pressed it onto some cardstock and got this print. A twofer! (A two for one)……. Oh, and a brand new sentiment set is out! All single line sentiments just for me! Yes!
