Hi there!!!!! Today I’ve got an easy way to add some shading to your colored cardstock and even patterened paper! All you need are some markers (I used Copics)… Yup, it’s just that simple. I am NO Copic expert, which is why you rarely see me attempting any form of coloring on my blog… But this is so easy and so freeing, you simply can’t go wrong. I’ve got a video that shows you just how I added the shading to my die cut pieces! You can be as subtle (which is what I did here) or as bold as you’d like! I know, another video! I clearly had a lot of free time this week, lol.
Speaking of the die cuts! Oh yes!! Those GORGEOUS flowers are from THIS die set from the Essentials by Ellen line… OH MY WORD! Simply stunning. These stand alone dies will work with just about anything! If you look closely, you will see a little bit of shading on the dies.
I managed to create dimension on the flowers without the use of dimensional tape. I simply applied the liquid adhesive to the center of the die cutss only! In doing that, it makes the tips of the leaves and flowers pop up a bit! The only liquid adhesive I use is Multi Matte Medium… It is a super strong adhesive and it dries completely matte…. So if it oozes out the sides (and in my case that always happens because I am heavy handed with my glue), no one will know the wiser… Completely invisible. And the striped lines???? This embossing powder is THE BOMB!!! Silver Pearl embossing powder by Wow. Check it out people. It is soooooo pretty.
I did mention a video didn’t I! You can watch it right here on the blog or even better…. Head on over to my youtube channel and watch it in HD! And if you don’t already, I’d love it if you subscribed!
And the MISTI BUNDLE GIVEAWAY, courtesy of the amazing Iliana of My Sweet Petunia is….
