I am pleased as punch to be here with you all today bringing you: one video showing you how to make your own DIY glittered patterned paper, a pawsitively ad-roar-able shaker card and another clean and simple Ad-roar-able and I ain’t lion card (the puns get me every time). You should have hopped on over to me by way of the fabulous Lydia Evans…. I bet she knocked your socks off didn’t she? I am the last stop on the Heffy Doddle Blog hop! If you got lost along the way, you can start at the beginning by clicking HERE.
I’ve got three cards to share with you today so let’s start with the one that has a video to go along with it. (All the images on all three cards were colored with Copic Markers by the way)…. I love the look of sparkly glitter but don’t like the mess that glitter brings along with it, which is why I rarely use it. Using some of the small images from the Ad-Roar-Able Lions stamp set, I created my very own Glittered Patterned Paper without using glitter…
You can watch the video here on the blog, or over on my youtube channel in HD by clicking HERE.
Using the Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer Paste, I instantly transformed the patterned background into a shiny piece of glitter paper without the mess. The Glimmer Paste stays put… Meaning, it doesn’t come off on your hands when you touch it (FIST BUMP). It dries quickly and comes in a bunch of different colors. I wanted the adorable sweet images to be seen so I opted to use the Moonstone color as its translucent. It’s hard to capture on camera just how sparkly this background is… DIY Glittered Patterned Paper peeps! That’s where it’s at!
Moving on to my next card! A shaker!!!!! I stamped all of the images from the Ad-Roar-Able stamp set, colored them and then die cut them out with the coordinating dies! I stamped multiples of the small images because I knew I wanted them to become shaker bits for my card.
I love shaking this card around and watching all of the bits move about the background. Speaking of the background, I created that little background by swiping some mini distress ink pads across the watercolored cardstock in rainbow order and then sprayed some water over the top so they would blend together. Quick and easy!
Used some double sided foam tape to pop up the lions as well as to pop up the window panel so the bits could move about, and all those adorable floral sequins??? Those are Flora Sequins from The Ton Stamps. How fun are those lions too! 🙂
And last, a very clean and simple card showcasing the images from the set. Notice the lioness has made an appearance! She works hard collecting all the treats for her den, doesn’t she…
And how about that added punny sentiment, “and I ain’t lion” – ha ha. I had to use that. I did add a little bit of sparkle to the colored images using my Spectrum Noir Glitter Pen and added a striped border to the card base.. The Yay Stripes stamp set is a perfect staple to any craft room. Stripes go with EVERYTHING!
So there you have it! 3 cards using the Ad-Roar-Able stamp set and coordinating dies from Heffy Doodle stamps. Now thru the end of July, you can pre order any stamp and/or die combination (various purchasing options) at a discounted rate by heading to their Kickstarter campaign.
Phew, if you hung with me thru this entire blog post, you ARE a trooper and deserve a reward…. Which means….
