I have a video today sharing how you can watercolor using the Avery Elle Liquid Watercolors! If you haven’t been following the CLASSroom, the designers have been showcasing fun techniques on how to use these liquid watercolors so be sure to check it out by clicking HERE! All supplies used are linked at the end of this post. You are almost to the end of the hop! Next up is the final stop, Sandy Allnock. The full hop list is linked towards the end of this post.
Let’s take a look at my video first. EXCUSE THE SHAKING in some segments. I have a new set up and was figuring out placement. You can watch the video over on my youtube channel by clicking HERE! If you aren’t a subscriber, be sure to click HERE to subscribe!
As shown in the video, you can simply drop your watercolor into your image and allow the water to do its magic. And that second leaf down at the bottom? Oye, that was my attempt at free handing a leaf. I am trying desperately to learn how to sketch. If I can’t draw a leaf, there is NO hope for me, lol….
I love to heat emboss when watercoloring because it makes the images pop off the page and the embossed areas act as a barrier to help contain the watercolor. The Mondo Peony stamp set has always been a favorite of mine. It’s a staple in my craft room. I also showed in the video how you can cover up a mistake when your watercolor bleeds into another color. I do love that border strip at the bottom. It’s this fun die cut from Avery Elle.
So aside from my pitiful hand drawn leaf, I am loving this card. Remember, this is a blog hop! So loads of inspiration to see and prizes to be won.

I don’t know why you are self conscious about your leaf… you could totally be a stamp designer for Pink Fresh! Their florals have that same, hand drawn look. And you gotta love watercolors for the ability to continue to layer until you like what you got!!! I used to do what you did, and add a lot of pigment at the beginning and I’d lose control really fast. I have learned to do several thin layers and glaze my colors and I’m happier with the results. Its hard though because I’m impatient and would rather do it all in one go!
My favorite use of these watercolor paints so far- really bold, expressive and GREAT LEAVES!!! Thank you.
So fun to see the Avery Elle Watercolors used with a heat embossed image! I would not have thought to simply drop the color right on of the bottles onto my flowers but it gave you such beautiful random mixed range of colors. So beautiful! Love the final background shade too – I tend to think of soft colors first, but after seeing this gorgeous card – my plan for my next card is going to be “Go Bold”! Thanks for participating on the hop today. Very fun and informative video! Thank you!
So beautiful. Thanks for the video.
Beautiful! If you didnt tell us you hand drew the leaf we wouldnt have known! Its lovely!

Gorgeous scene! And I wouldn’t have the leaves were hand drawn if you didn’t mention it 😉
Beautiful card! Love how you kept working with the paints until you got the look you wanted! Water color is a lot more forgiving than I realized.
