How about two colorful cards with just one stamp set? Like a 2 for 1 special? LOL!!! Today I am using the brand spanking new Best in You stamp set from Catherine Pooler Designs. This is actually a floral stamp set but I chose to use the solid center floral pieces to create a Bokeh like card using various colors of Catherine Pooler’s ink (exact colors are linked below in the supply list).
To create both cards, I first took a plain white piece of cardstock and stamped the solid circle multiple times in various colors, overlapping and stamping off page – filling in almost all the white space of an entire card panel. Then I had one beautifully patterned piece of cardstock to work with….
Let’s take a close up look at each starting with the uplifting sentiment found in the set:
The sentiment = TRUTH! I can’t tell you how important this is. Any negativity in your life? Dump it. You don’t need it! I know sometimes am guilty of being the negative person like going in to something with a bad attitude – so I know I have things I need to work on too!
We all need to bring out the best in ourselves don’t we….
🙂
Then I colored in some of the letters in the sentiment with Copics similar in color to the stamped circle background. Then to finish off the card, I cut a strip of that stamped circle paper I previously made and popped it up on the bottom of the card, almost as if the pattern is acting as a ground for the sentiment.
My next card might be my favorite of the two. I cut a banner shape from the stamped circle paper with good ole’ scissors and adhered it flat to a white card base. I stamped the dash lines to the left of the banner and adhered the best wishes sentiment right over the circle pattern. For this one, I stamped some the floral center image randomly on the paper just for some added fun.
The best die cut is from the last Stamp of Approval, Naturally Inspired. It will be available in a few months. I normally don’t use things that can’t be purchased yet, but I couldn’t resist (SORRY). I do love this die cut. Keep your eyes peeled because I’ll be sure to share when its available. I used glitter paper to die cut the “best” but you could also heat emboss it with some fun embossing powder as well with any die cuts that you already have. Just smoosh some Versmark ink onto your die cut, sprinkle on your embossing powder and heat set!
So there you have it! Two cards with one stamp set. And even better, stamping a full patterned on a piece of cardstock and using bits of that to complete your cards.. And I still have some paper left over!
