The Ton’s 2017 Anniversary Release Blog Hop: 3 technique cards

By Laurel on January 13, 2017January 13, 2017

Laurel Beard Colorful Cards The Ton Stamps

Hi there! Today I am part of an amazing new release blog hop! I created three very colorful projects using several new stamps sets from the release.   The Ton has 26 new stamps for their 2017 Anniversary Release, which include three free gifts with purchases. For more information on The Ton’s inventive products, head over to The Ton’s blog. All new release products are available now!

Let’s take a look at my first card! I’ll be honest. I thought I messed this up! Big time! I watercolored the beautiful floral image from the Dahliah Close up stamp set with some watercolors (I used the MissionGold watercolors). This image is a breeze to color. I love the close up of the floral.

Laurel Beard Dahliah Close Up

After it dried complete, I added some glass slipper sequins and some little drops of Nuvo Drops. White Blizzard Glitter drop (has glitter in in) and Morning Dew Crystal drop (translucent). I took a step back and went, CRAP! I just gave this card chicken pox! But once it dried, I fell in love! The sentiment is from the Fresh Cut Poppies stamp set.

Next up – how about some macarons?  The Sweet Macarons stamp set is simply scrumptious.

Laurel Beard Sweet Macarons

I heat embossed the tower of Macarons in white and then applied a wash of watercolor (Color Burst). Finished it off with some more of those gorgeous Glass Slipper sequins and some twine.

And lastly, how about a rainbow of Morning Glories using the Morning Glory Border stamp?

The fun sentiment is from the City Girls: Special Day stamp set. I adore the whimsical feel of the sentiments from that set… To create the rainbow inking, I used distress inks and added some flicks of my favorite black texture spray.

I really love your vibrant colors. I am so intrigued by the MissionGold watercolors. i had to laugh over your chicken pox comment. I love how the sequins add so much to the card. I ordered some. 🙂
