Hello! It’s release week over at CAS-ual Fridays. I’ll be here sharing with you lots of projects using the new goodies! If you missed yesterday’s post, click HERE. Today’s projects feature the Peace Out stamp set and the Flower Power stamp set. All the products from the new release will be available for purchase on Saturday!
For my first project, I scribbled various colors of the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers onto a piece of Bristol paper and then generous sprayed the panel with water – lots of water. Then, I walked away and did a load of laundry, lol. When I returned, I had a beautiful watercolored background. I stamped the peace floral image with white sparkle embossing powder and heat set. The sentiment was heat embossed with my favorite silver embossing powder onto some vellum.
For my second card, I used the Flower Power stamp set. I stamped the images in Versamark Ink and sprinkled on some SUPER FINE white embossing powder (I highly recommend SUPER FINE for such a detailed stamp like this) and heat set. Then I inked up the card panel using my DIY Distress Ink Pad. To see how I created this custom Distress Ink pad, click HERE to read about it or click HERE to watch the video. I took the pad and pressed it against my card base and swiped back and forth until I got complete coverage. I love how subtle the three colors I blended together look.
To accentuate the detail of the letters, I removed some of the distress ink by taking a wet paint brush and painted in the letters with water. Then I dabbed the water away with a cloth and that removed some of the the ink. Does that make sense?
