Sushi Sushi and more Sushi

I love the latest Essentials by Ellen release from Ellen Hutson. Julie recently went on a trip to Japan and came back completely inspired and created this entire collection. Today, I’m focusing on the sushi set from the collection. If you know me, you know I LOVE sushi!!!! NOM NOM!

My first card, I created a watercolored background with Liquid Watercolors (exact colors linked below) and added some sushi and the sushi grass and one of the cute little lucky cat from the So Matcha stamp set.

I added a bit of glossy accents to the seaweed and stamped my favorite sentiment from the Wasabi stamp set.

My next card combines the Wasbi stamp set with some images from the So Matcha stamp set! I stamped the images with Catherine Pooler Midnight ink and then colored/stamped the images with Brutus Monroe surface inks (my first time using them and I love them). They have like a chalky finish without the texture of chalk….

I sponged the background using the same color ink with a stencil brush!

And my last card was created by smushing my cardstock into some watercolor.

I flicked on some Midnight ink to create some splatters and then layered the images over some chopsticks!

I adore this release! I have several more cards focusing on the So Matcha stamp set using the Kimono girls (LOVE LOVE LOVE) that I’ll post tomorrow!!!! :):)

Laurel I do not usually do cards with food on them, but I will make the exception with these. They are so much fun to look at, I know that tomorrow’s will be a fun. Thank you for sharing these with us crafters. :O)
