So, let me get right to it. Me and shakers. We just do not get along. This is my third shaker ever, and I haven’t gotten any faster making them! LOL! The stuff always fall out! But guess what? I did this one right! All my insides stayed inside! And I actually had fun making this… There is a lot of shine on this card! Let’s start with the diagonal background! I used this awesome stamp set and paired it with my favorite gold embossing powder. Then I die cut a circle from Lawn Fawn’s Circle Stackables die. Setting that aside I worked on the interior panel, which was my favorite and a happy accident. Here’s a close up.
I colored the inside with some blue distress ink and intended on flicking on some perfect pearls to create a starry night background… BUT, I accidentally spilled the powder onto the panel and whoops!! To salvage it, I spritzed a lot of water on it and I LOVE how it turned out. GORGEOUS. After it dried, I stamped the super fun and whimsical houses and sentiment (isn’t the font just fantastic) from the Cozy Christmas stamp set with Onyx black ink and heat set that with clear embossing powder… I loved the added sparkle of the black ink against that sparkly background. And last, I tossed in some Pretty Pink Posh sequins (white sequins and stars) and some chunky white glitter and sealed all that together and voila, my first shaker card that was a success….
Thanks so much for popping by today!

Just beautiful, Laurel! I’m so glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t get along with shaker cards… I’ve attempted two — one card and one tag. Neither has been a success. But third time is a charm, right? Here’s hoping! I love them and I’d really like to create lots of them… wish me luck! And thank you for the inspiration!
Oh my goodness!! What a happy accident! That spilled perfect pearls looks gorgeous! I never would have known! This shaker looks awesome bye the way!! Hooray for shakers!!
