Hello there peeps! Today I have a somewhat different post because I didn’t make a card! GASP! What you say? I didn’t make a card. I know, it’s true….. I wanted to pull out my shrinky dink paper and make something with it. I played with a shrinky dink kit a long time ago and shared a video which can be found HERE of my first impressions.
Today, I decided to make a bracelet for my daugther with some of the shrink plastic, which can be bought separately without a kit! I will link to a few different inexpensive sources below at the end of the post! I used the Dina Wakely Scribbly Birds stamp set, which is perfect because those birds and really big to start with! And cute….
So here is a snippet of the bracelet my daugther is wearing. She is never still so this was hard to get… And yes, the birds look really big on her wrist, but she is only 2! So everything looks big on her, lol! NOTE: whatever color you lie down on the shrink plastic will darken as you heat it. I kept my coloring unblended because I wanted it to appear as if a child colored it since this was for my daugther.. LOL! I used colored pencils. Stazon Ink is not copic friendly so I did not use alcohol markers.
I got most of the process on video for you today, except for the very end where I put the circle fasteners thru the bird and then attached them to the bracelet. Why didn’t I capture that on video? Because I am not a jewelery maker and I didn’t have plyers are or any kind of tool to clamp the circle ring thing (see, I don’t even know the technical name for that thing) back together so I had to use what I had. My fingers, smashing it down onto the desk, whatever I could do to get those suckers together again, lol! The bracelet and the circle things I got from Michael’s crafts.
Here’s a snippet of what I made in the previous video using the kit:
You can watch today’s project video right here on the blog or you can head on over to my youtube channel and watch it in HD (and subscribe if you haven’t already, hint hint)…..

This is adorable! Such a fun way to get more use out of our stamps, and I think I have some shrink plastic somewhere 🙂
