Rose Gold and Distress Ink Poppies

Hi there!  I hope you had a great weekend!  Today I’ve got two cards to share with you that use distress inks, rose gold embossing powder and the new Poppy Garden Cling background stamp from The Ton’s latest release… I am also participating in their just launched monthly challenge blog! Both cards use the same exact colors of distress inks paired with the Rose Gold heat embossed Poppy Garden Cling background.

For this card, I blended the distress inks (the exact colors I used are linked below in the supply list) onto the background with a foam blending tool and then adhered the “happy birthday” die cut to the panel. I adore the script font of that die.

The second card keeps the same layout and this time I watercolored the same distress ink colors using the “smooshing” technique, lol. Basically, I smooshed my inkpad onto my craft sheet, spritzed it with water and then pressed my already heat embossed cardstock into the puddle of color.

Here is a close up of the watercolored panel and also the “fabulous” die. Again, I love the scripty font. I did do a bit of water flicking. Hello, have you met me? It seems anytime I use distress inks, I have to do a bit of water flicking to finish it off, lol! What can I say.

Two cards using the exact same layout with the exact same techniques, but a little bit different just by adding a wee bit of water. Pretty cool, eh?
