Pumpkins and Pie: Ellen Hutson August Release Blog Hop with giveaways

By Laurel on August 9, 2019August 8, 2019

Happy Essentials by Ellen Release Day!!! We’ve got Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas covered with this release!   I made so many cards  (I have shared them all on Instagram if you want to check it out for a jump start)….. but for today’s hop, I want to share the two cards inspired by the photo color collage where I drew all the inspiration from….  I love the inks and yellows and reds together! There is just something about that color combination that speaks to me…..

Let’s first talk pumpkins!  Inspired by the paint circles, I stamped a bunch of pumpkins from the Happy Haunting stamp set with a permanent ink, loosely watercolored them and then slapped on a sentiment for good measure! Halloween doesn’t have to be about ghosts and spookiness!

I used the Altenew Pan Watercolors. They are highly pigmented and creamy so they were the perfect choice for coloring in these pumpkins! 🙂

Next up, let’s move to Thanksgiving. I like food!  Sweets unfortunately….. But not turkey really. But pie??? Oh yea… So I took some of the elements from the Bear Ware 4 stamp set and created this layout, again inspired by the paint circles in the photo collage. Same watercolors. Just more watered down….

These little stamps were made to coordinate with the Bear Ware bears but hey, they can make a cute card just on their own!

I’ll move on to Christmas cards with this release in my next post, but for now… Check out the hoppers… GIVEAWAYS PEOPLE!
