Ok! This is the FIRST time I have ever made a card like this. Look at that little girl with the pig tails. How cute. This set reminded me of me as a child and what my daughter would be like if I had one! Lots of coloring on this card… AAAH. I did my best… I used lots of Hero Arts stamps here so I’ll do a supply list below.
I was inspired by two challenges! The Wee Memories Patterned Paper Challenge and the WPlus9Design On Cue with Color Challenge, using Jenny Newlin’s colors and the City Crafter Challenge (create a project featuring children)….. I paper pieced the girls shorts… Let’s give her a name… How about Suzie?!? Ok. I paper pieced Suzie’s shorts, colored in her skin and hair and added some glossy accents to her hair bow. Her shirt was made by using Hero Arts Cling Dots and Tim Holtz Distress Ink (broken china). I found some fabulous red textured/patterned paper in my stash and used that for the base of my card. I masked Suzie and stamped Hero Arts Friends Definition in Bundled Sage distress ink to finish off the layer. I decided to add another layer so I made a striped background using Hero Arts Stripes Pattern cling and Tea Dye distress ink..
Believe it or not, this card took over an hour to make. I am used to quick cards. Clean and simple, one layer…. So, be gentle. This was A LOT of coloring for me, and definitely far from my comfort zone and style…. I hope you like it…
Stamps: Hero Arts – Stripes Pattern, Friend Definition, Cling Dots, All Occasion Messages; Tim Holtz Distress Ink (bundled sage, tea dye, broken china, fired brick); glossy accents; copic; spellbinders nestabilities;
ahhhh. love the gems for her pony tails! I remember wearing those!
