Painting with Embossing Powder

By Laurel on May 19, 2017August 8, 2017

Today I wanted to do some painting with embossing powders for the current Pin-Sights Challenge over at the Ellen Hutson CLASSroom. (Forgive my delay in posting and the incomplete post that was initially published. My son is incredibly sick and I didn’t have the change to complete my post until now). ALL the supplies I used is linked at the end of this post.

Painting with embossing powders is a fun way to get lots of color and shine to your projects. On the woodgrain background, you’ll notice a few different colors and because it is heat embossed, the imagine is shiny and raised! Deer sitting on a bundle of floral sprigs I thought would make a nice scene. And they are lovey dovey deer too!

For my second project,  I created a focal background image by again painting with the embossing powders and laid out my scene around the image.

You can see the shine from the embossing powder very clear in the photo below!

I am working with WOW embossing powders today and I just adore them! They come in a variety of colors and finishes! Many designers have been showcasing projects using the WOW embossing powders over on the CLASSroom blog so I hope you’ll head over there for more inspiration on how to use your embossing powders.
