Why oh why did I pick up a needle and thread. While most of you could have knocked this out in a matter of minutes, it took me over an hour to hand stitch these two kites… And they aren’t even that good! Grr! I couldn’t NOT post them on the blog because I worked so hard of those dinky little things, I wanted to show them off but at the same time. Really? Did I just make this? I paper pierced the kite shapes and stitched with DMC floss and added buttons in the center… Took the cloud image, stamped the sentiment, added some polka dots of course and adhered with a pop dot….. I added a score line across the top for a finishing touch, but it didn’t photograph well. I layered two PTI ribbons that matched the color of the floss I used for the kites… The Poppy Seed Challenge challenge was to use spring moss, polka dots and buttons!!! So, there it is. And folks, this is why I use a professional tailor and dare not try to hem or alter any of my clothes!!!! LOL! Have a great Wednesday!!!!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Practicing Creativity Look Up (cloud), Hero Arts Thinking of You (sentiment), PTI Polka Dot Basics Other: Kraft cardstock, PTI Buttons and Ribbon, DMC Floss
I love the kites! The whole card is really sweet. I’m impressed with your sewing and you did a way better job than I could ever do. Plus, you’ve inspired me to give it a try too.
Thanks for sharing.
I think the kites are A-DOR-ABLE!! Well worth the time spent!! 🙂
