Happy Tuesday everyone! Today, we went to a friend’s pool!
The first pool trip of the season. The water was freezing! My poor son’s teeth were chattering the entire time, but he got to swim for about 30 minutes until he just couldn’t take it anymore. We left and went for Mexican food!
I was inspired by the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge this week. I don’t really use border punches often (I am sure you can see why) even though I own quite a few of them. I am just not good with incorporating them into cards. My cards are typically just very clean and simple, which sometimes annoys me that I can’t think more outside of the box.
I pulled out (well, who am I kidding, I haven’t put them away since I received them) my new Lawnfawn stamps. The typewriter is just so cute and the sentiments that fit on the paper are perfect! I colored it with COPIC markers. I wanted to use green because as a child, I remember the green typewriter we used to have…
I tried to outline it with a terracotta color COPIC, inspired by the Embellish Dimension Color Challenge, but not sure the color came out when it was mixed with the green. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Vintage Photo) on the typewriter paper and the edges of the memo paper.
I popped up the typewriter paper and scissors with pop dots for added dimension. I love the shot of blue with those scissors. Really makes that color pop!
I can’t resist posting this photo of my son. I went to Michael’s and bought him his very own ink pads (washable of course) and stamps and set up a little stamping station on my dining room table. The first thing he wanted to do this morning when he got was to stamp! I love it…. He begged to pose for a picture with the two cards I made (sneak peek at the card in my next post)….
Seriously. How cute is he! 🙂
Thanks for popping by! Hope your week is fabulous.
