My son is growing up

By Laurel on September 6, 2007

It seems as if only yesterday my son was just learning to sit up, crawl and finally walk! Where does the time go?  I just look at my son and am so incredibly thankful that the Lord blessed me by allowing me to be his mother. Everyday, I am amazed at the things he has learned, and often wondered where he learned them from.  I used to always ask him if he wanted to go outside, so I just assumed he would start informing me he wanted to go outside by saying the word “side”.  But instead, he pleasantly surprised me by saying “yar”. Yard… Yard… I don’t remember ever saying yard to him. I asked my husband and my parents if they ever referred to outside as the yard, and they all said no. So, this just goes to show that children are like sponges. They absorb all kinds of information.

Laurel: My “baby” turned 18 on Sunday. I am here to tell you that it was just yesterday that Andrew was learning to walk and talk. I believe that I took a nap and woke up with a grown man living in my house. There is a new Kenny Chesney song/video out that is called “Don’t Blink”. It’s great for times like these; when the time is passing much too fast!!!

It seems like only yesterday that YOU were a little baby. Look at you now – all grown up with a baby of your own. But to me you will always be my little one. Mom
