My First Challenge Back

By Laurel on January 25, 2010

My first challenge back after a two week hiatus and man am I lacking creativity and mojo (not to say I had any to begin with, lol)!  I did want to participate in my favorite challenge, JUGS. This week was to use one of Lauren’s templates. The Crazy 4 Challenges blog was to use pink!   I added embellishments, then took it off. Added more again, and took it off again. It was either too much or too plain. I ended up with a cute flower and button embellishment and distressed the edges. I am pretty sure my final result is plain, but when I fill it with valentines CHOCOLATES, who will notice! HA HA HA!  I am not an expert on embellishing so what I tried to do looked pretty gaudy. Can anyone help me?!? I am hopeless. 🙂

Laurel this is super cute – love the DP you used especially that it’s double sided. Totally a finished look. You’re doing fine with embellishments – it’s one of my “splurges” at Michaels or HL etc – I have several jars of primas and lots of buttons and lots of pearls, rhinestones etc. SO – just go with what feels good to YOU. There are no “rules” in stampin. Thanks so much for playing along with Just Us GIrls again – it’s great to have you here as a “regular”. Have a great week.

So fabulous you are creating again! This came out really nice! I love the colors! Is that dp or did you stamp that paper? Embellishing is so much fun! Just pull out your flowers and buttons etc and go hog wild. Stamping is like an art, find your style within. There are no rules! Have fun that’s the only rule!

Thanks Maria. It is actually some decorative paper. I just googled for downloable valentine paper and came across this paper…. I am making another one with some other paper I found to that is just as cute… 🙂
