Mondo Poinsettia, DIY Bookmark Video and other links to share

Hello there everyone! Today has been an emotional week for me as my son went back to school! It was hard one me! Maybe our dog suffered a little more. She whimpered at the window most of the day.. LOL! I’ve got a few things to share with you today! First up is this card using the Mondo Poinsettia stamp set from the latest Essentials by Ellen Release. If you saw this post or watched this video, you saw a sneak of it. I heat embossed the Poinsettia in white onto some awesome vellum and die cut it with the coordinating die. Before layering in onto the card using some dimensional tape, I added a bit of red and gold watercolor using the Gansai watercolors…. Then I filled in the center of the flowers with some gold texture gem from Faber Castell. Super fun and simple! I LOVE using vellum for projects like these…

A few other things:

  • The Lawnscaping Challenge is underway and Ellen Hutson is sponsoring! Play along and you could walk away with a $25 shopping spree to the store! The theme is back to school. Even if you don’t have kids you can play along. Be inspired by what you think of when you think of school. I think of an apple for whatever reason, lol.
  • The current Ellen Hutson Challenge is also underway! You can Mix it Up and earn a $50 shopping spree!
  • I made some bookmarks for my son’s class! I love that he came home and asked me (he has never asked me for anything crafty before) so I stayed up late and made them.. I filmed a Periscope yesterday and showed how I made one… As you may know, Periscope is a live streaming interactive app. You catch them live and interact with the person filming. If you don’t, there is a replay option (can’t chat or comment but you can leave little hearts, lol) but it disappears after 24 hours… Periscope is an app you can download for your smartphone. Click HERE to download the app. I decided to upload my last Periscope to youtube so you can check it out if you want to. You won’t see the comment/chat window in the replay but you can get the idea of how it works. You can watch the video by clicking HERE!
