The September Essentials by Ellen released designed by the bubbly Julie Ebersole is finally here!!!! I’ve had so much fun playing with this release! There are so many more projects that I want to share with you all, but for today I’m focusing on the Mondo Holly and Mountain Holiday goodies. Let’s take a look at the beautiful MONDO Holly up close and personal……
I stamped the Barnwood Background stamp in a light colored ink onto some white cardstock. On a piece of watercolored paper, I heat embossed the Mondo Holly stamp with my favorite gold embossing powder and watercolored with the new Altenew Watercolors. I adore these watercolors. They are super pigmented, unlike some of the other pan watercolors I have used so a little goes a long way!
I popped up the panels with foam dimension. The coordinating die also cuts the berries out separately if you want so I popped those up with double the foam tape for some added dimension!
For this card, I painted the paints from the Altenew watercolors directly onto the stamp, did a very light spritz of water and stamped. The card to the right was the the first stamped impression and the card to the left was the second (second generation stamping – where I stamped the image once and without reinking or re-adding any paint, I stamped it again)…. STUNNING result and talk about easy to mass produce, AND ONE LAYER!
Next up, the Mountain Holiday stamp set. It also comes with a coordinating die cut. I chose to create one layer card here so I didn’t use them this time. I used the Altenew watercolors again to do some easy watercoloring.
So, this skier It’s me… Picture it.
- I dare to leave the bunny slope and try the next run.
- I start skiing down the mountain.
- I lose my nerve because I am going way to fast!
- I start doing a major PIZZA (to slow myself down) – not happening.
- So rolling I go (image 2 and 3 on the card). Off to the spa I go. No more skiing for me. LOL.
To check out the FULL release, I’ve linked to it all below in the supply list along with the other items I’ve used in today’s cards!!!! RUN, don’t walk, over to the Ellen Hutson shop and place your order so you can get crackin’ on those Christmas cards!
Goodies used:
I have been a blog follower for a long time and I love your cards! I never try to make anything similar because it is so far out of the realm of possibility, but I never cease to be amazed by your creativity. These cards are gorgeous! Keep stamping so I can keep dreaming! My friends and family think I make fabulous cards and then I show them your blog — NOW they get it. I’m just a good cardmaker but it is my therapy and your blog does give me ideas. Thanks for sharing all that you do! You are inkcredible!
gorgeous cards! I love the blue berries
