Mojo/Color Throwdown/Embellish Mag Combo!!

By Laurel on September 23, 2009

Greetings! It has been a while since I have done any cards and it definitely showed as I was trying to create this one. I made a huge mess and messed up on the polka dot background three times and had to start over! HA!!!! As soon as I saw Embellish Magazine’s Polka Dot Color Challenge (Ashley Newell’s mag) and the Color Throwdown Challenge, I just KNEW I had to participate. I loved the colors, so perfect for FALL!!!  My problem was getting inspiration on the lay out. So I turned to the ever faithful Mojo Monday Sketch challenges and thought, “PERFECT”!!!!!! Here is the color challenge and sketch challenge (click each picture to enlarge):

Seriously, I just love that little squirrel… And the little acron he is holding? So cute… Found this adorable DP at Hobby Lobby! Distressed the edges of the circles with scarlet jewel ink and an edge distresser and heat embossed the polka dot background. I hope that you like it!

Supplies:

Papertrey Ink: Polka Dot Basics and My Punny Valentine Stamp sets; Dark chocolate, Scarlet Jewel, Vintage Cream, Ripe Avacado and Burnt Sienna Inks; Summer Sunrise Buttons
Other: Close To My Heart Edge Distresser, Marvy circle punches, pop dot, ribbon, DP, heat embosser, clear embossing powder
