Hi there! I sit here surrounded by boxes with my bed floating in the middle of the room! We have made the move and we are now in Connecticut! My mom flew up here with us last week and my Dad just arrived yesterday so I am not a mess YET because they are here with me and I’ve been up to my ears with boxes and filler paper!
I thought today was a good time to quickly share this card I made ions ago when The Ton stamps had their last release. I made this with my parents in mind. It will be something I send to them when they go home. The Statue of Liberty is fitting as NYC is not to far from where I live now. The image and sentiment is from The Vogue Skies stamp set. I begged Effie from The Ton to create a skyline stamp set and she blew me out of the water with this set! I heat embossed the Statue of Liberty, watered colored the background with my Mission Gold watercolors (on sale HERE) and splatted around some black texture flecks with my favorite texture spray. And yes, I – LAUREL BEARD – used sequins again, lol!
I finished it off by popping it up with some foam dimensional tape and adhering it to a card base I stamped with some fun stripes.
Ok! I have stalled long enough. Time to open and unpack another box. 🙁 I’ll see you guys again soon! Have an amazing day!
Ha, the first thing I noted on your card, apart from the Statue of Liberty, were the sequins, and perfectly place too!
Good luck with unpacking and starting your new life. And when you have a little time to spare, it may be wise to check any laws that may apply to you now that you live in Connecticut lol: http://www.dumblaws.com/laws/united-states/connecticut lol
Stunning card. Good luck with your move.
So glad to hear you made it to Connecticut OK! I know–unpacking is truly the pits. I really love your card–especially the sequins! 🙂 Thanks for sharing, and hope you don’t get too down with the unpacking. Just go one box at a time. 🙂 ~ Andrea
FABULOUS! Love it!
Hi Laurel ~ Sequins seem to be becoming a habit with you these days!! LOL Fabulous card, I love everything you’ve done with it. I’ve been looking for a skyline stamp set for forever and was thrilled to see this one on your blog; it’s awesome. Good luck with the unpacking and store up some extra hugs from your Mom & Dad. ~HUGS~
