Mini Cards

By Laurel on August 5, 2010

This was my first try at making mini cards….. My great twitter friend Sarah Martina was kind enough to tell me how to trim a 8.5×11 piece of cardstock into three 3.5″ mini cards. (Now the question arises, what to do about envelopes… Anyone?? Anyone??, LOL).  I stamped the sentiment on the inside:

Even though I already participated in this week’s EBTKS challenge, I wanted to do it again because I love buttons!  I admit. I had a HARD time trying to do a french knot for the little birdie’s eyes. I watched this youtube tutorial over and over again… It looked quite easy, but nope… Couldn’t do it.   I tried and said FORGET this and just tied a regular old knot three times over. I think it worked!!! I also had quite a time photographing these cards that showed the embossed background.  In case you don’t see it, the card is embossed in swiss dots! I saw the latest color challenge by Color Throwdown and wanted to give it a whirl. I hope you like the mini cards.

Hmmm.. My husband is asleep next to me, my son is watching cartoons, it is 6:30 and I have not given any thought as to what to do for dinner. I am thinking cereal or take out! How lame am I!!! Have a great night!!!

PTI: Everyday Button Bits Stamp Set, Polka dot paper, cardstock, buttons; Ink: Versafine, Papertrey Ink; Other: Glue Dots, Marvy Circle Punches, DMC Floss

Hi, If you find a template for the size envelope you need for the mini cards, I’d love to know too.

I usually use mini-cards to go with a gift for a special person or on a swap as a special gift. I haven’t made envelopes at all for them.
