Lawnscaping Challenge: Paper Piecing sponsored by LAWN FAWN

By Laurel on October 17, 2011

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a pleasant weekend! Most of my weekend, a headache consumed me…… Not gonna lie. It stunk. I tried a few times to get into my craft room this weekend to work on my card but I just couldn’t do it…. Today, finally, I had some relief. I was able to make the card for the challenge AND take my son to the fair as promised…..

Today’s challenge is all about PAPER PIECING!!!!!! I love to paper piece. It’s a great way to add patterns and texture without all the fuss. You can make your project as elaborate or as simple as you want!

We are sponsored by the fabulous Lawn Fawn! The winner of this challenge will receive a free stamp set! That’s right. Any set you choose!

And here is the card I made for this challenge, keeping the focus on the paper pieced images!

Paper piecing is also a fun way to use up some of your scraps, which is what I did here… I am going to guess there is a mixture of October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket on this card… I added some googly eyes, embossed the background, popped up the soup with foam dimension and voila. Clean and simple, I know… But I don’t think it is too simple, do you?  I made this card with my son’s friend in mind who has been battling the stomach bug.

Be sure to head on over to the Lawnscaping blog and see what the design team created because they are amazing and blew my mind….. I hope you will play along! Just do it! Let me pressure you. This is one time peer pressure is ok! Play along with us! 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by and for all of the sweet comments! Every comment I receive just leaves me with a big smile on my face. You guys are amazing! I will be starting back up my little Tim Holtz Distress Mania series tomorrow… You can click here, here, here and here if you missed any of it! HUGS!!!

There something to be said about clean and simple cards and the power they hold with a clean design and simple message. I’m a firm believer that no card can ever be too simple! I think this is fabulous. Great color choices!

That is a ton of chicken soup! 🙂 How could it not cheer a sick someone up! Love it, it can never be too simple! (unless maybe it is just a blank sheet of paper) And I must say, next time I am sick I want a googley eyed soup bowl to eat out of!
