Happy Monday everyone! It won’t be a happy one for me next Monday. My not so little boy is starting Kindergarden! AAHHH! I am beside myself just typing it. What am I going to do? He is growing up, off to school and I will sit at home in the empty house! I could try and get a part time job but it will be hard to find one that will allow me the capability to drop him off and pick him up each day and I will NOT give that up. Wah. Ok, sorry, I know that is not what you are here for. You are here for the current Lawnscaping Challenge!!!! ONE LAYER CARDS! Do you like them? Do you find them easy or hard? You know, I do them ALL THE TIME and for some reason, I struggled with this card… Go figure!
We are sponsored by the amazing Jenni Bowlin! She has generously offered an amazing prize pack to the winner! I’ve seen this prize pack and I want it!!! 🙂
And here is what I created for this challenge, using a Jenni Bowlin Paint Dabber. Faber Castell colored pencils and Lawn Fawn’s Say Cheese and Quinn’s ABCS. (supply list at the end of the post)
Be sure to head on over the Lawnscaping Blog and check out the deets on the challenge and see the rest of the Design Team’s amazing projects!!!! And I hope you will play along!!!
Awesome card! The sadness of sending your boy off to school never wears away, but soon joy will come too as you see him learn to read and write with great proficiency! Good luck to you both!
Our older son is going to first grade this year and will be gone ALL DAY. I was ok with Kindergarten last yr since it was only half day, but this all day thing has got me kinda riled up… The little guy will be in preschool three mornings a week and he will not know what to do with himself when big brother is gone all day. They have been such buddies this summer… sniff… sniff.. I feel ya, Laurel!! FABULOUS card!!
Great card Laurel. I just saw a video recently showing that splat technique with the paint dabbers, I need to give it a try, I have some Jenni Bowlin dabbers that I have not really used yet. Sorry you are sad about sending your baby off to school. I have no kids so I so not know the feeling. But I’m sure you will find something to do with your free time. 🙂 And you will get to enjoy all the new things he learns and comes home and shares with you.
Great Card, Laurel!
You won one of my ten candies over on my blog. Congratulations! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Please send me your adress and your candy will soon be on it´s way to you.
Hugs, Tina
Great card laurel….make me think to have this set too 🙂
This is a real challenge for me, I’m always adding layers… I need to learn from you!! I’m thrilled with your creation, those splashes of paint are sooo cool! Great great card!
About Kindergarden: It will be hard at the begining but think in possitive: you will have more time for your crafts and for him when he come back home everyday 🙂
I absolutely LOVE this card!!! I think it is awesome how you used the dabber to create flashes surrounding the polaroid! ;o)
