Lawnscaping Challenge: Let’s party sponsored by Simon Says Stamp

By Laurel on January 6, 2014

Hello everyone! Welcome to the first Lawnscaping challenge of 2014! And Happy Birthday to Lawnscaping! We are officially 4 years old. I can hardly believe it. It doesn’t seem to long ago when I was toying around with the idea of creating the challenge and now look how we have grown! We are so excited that you enjoy participating as much as we enjoy designing for it!

It’s only fitting we continue on with our party theme each year! After all, this is cause for celebrating! Our badge illustrates birthday, but it can be any type of party themed project!

My baby girl is turning one if February. Now THAT, I absolutely can not believe. My little miracle… My little butternut! Love her to pieces! My two babies. Lucas and Lily… Ok. I’m about to cry. MOVING ON! I created this card for her first birthday.

I had a lot of fun creating this card… Lots of emotion went into it as well. I chose fun, bright colors as my base and then just built from there. I love creating shaped cards and using Lawn Fawn die cuts certainly help… I traced the edges of the star with my Versamark pen and then heat embossed it using this fabulous embossing powder.

The “1st” was also created with LF die cuts and I used a heavy coating of Wink of Stella pen in pink followed with Glossy Accents to seal it all in… Finished it off with some enamel dots in coordinating colors… They come with adhesive but I also squirted some Glossy Accents on there as well so Lily wouldn’t pull them off the card. Look at this baby sparkle.

I hope you like it… And I hope you will play along with us. Be sure to head on over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team created…… We are sponsored by the amazing folks at Simon Says Stamp! The winner will receive a $25 gift card to their online store! Did you know that the winners are hand chosen by the Design Team? They are. All the design team sends in their votes privately to one select person and that person calculates up the total votes and that is how our winners are chosen! Just a tid bit of info, no idea why I chose to share that with you all, lol….

Great birthday card, Laurel! I really like the colors that you used and the embossing around the edges. I can’t believe that Lily will be one year old next month! Why do they have to grow up so fast?!
