Hi there! Welcome to another Lawnscaping Challenge! Today’s challenge is all about DIMENSION! And the design team has really created some fabulous projects showcasing how awesome dimension can be so be sure to check it out! I wanted to show you a very simple way to add dimension to your card without adding a lot of bulk, which means no extra postage!
I cut a card panel down and watercolored it in various areas in yellow and then dry embossed some sunshine rays onto it. Then I die cut some of the Party Balloons from Lawn Fawn onto the panel. I love that that die set includes both the balloons and the strings! I sprayed quite a bit of yellow Tsukineko Texture spray over the background… It is soo gorgeous in real life. I wish you could see all the texture.
I laid the panel down flat over some white card stock and traced the balloon openings so I knew where to add watercolor to on the white panel! After adding the watercolor to the white panel, I adhered it direct to my card base.
And now it’s time to add that dimension! I adhered a lot of the double sided tape by Scotch to the back of my embossed/textured/die cut (hahaha) panel and then adhered it over the white watercolored panel. Because I traced out the balloons onto that panel, I knew exactly where to position it… And voila!
As a finishing touch, I stamped a sentiment from the Wish Big Essentials by Ellen set in gold ink! Because it was a small stamp image, I could fit my stamp in there nicely after the card was assembled to get my stamped impression. THANK GOODNESS! (I always tend to forget about sentiment placements until the end…) – Does that ever happen to you?
