Lawnscaping Challenge: COLOR SPLASH sponsored by Simon Says Stamp

By Laurel on June 18, 2012

Hello everyone! My heart is heavy today  and I had to say goodbye to my husband for a while… He is my best friend and wonderful father and at the moment, I just feel empty inside…  I am so very proud of him and absolutely honored to be his wife…. He is my better half and without him, I am just not whole….

Today’s Lawnscaping challenge is all about a splash of color!!! Basically, keeping a neutral palette and then adding a splash of color! SO fun. A BIG HUGE BEAR HUG THANKS to Lawn Fawn for sponsoring our challenge with a free stamp set of the winners choice111

And here is my take on the challenge:

I colored the kites with distress inks and did the water flicking ink with a darker color distress inks! I then put a thick layer of stickles over the top! Love the shine! Minimal bulkage so perfect for mailing!!! I hope you like it and I hope you will play along with us over at Lawnscaping! Be sure to head on over and check out the wonderful inspiration from the design team and our two guest designers!

I’m so sorry you’re hurting today 🙁 I’m so grateful for our military & their families. So many sacrifices are made for our freedom. I can only imagine how lonely & fearful you are when he’s gone. You & L both. My brother served a tour in Iraq. Big hugs. PS-love your card of course 🙂

Your post prompted me to comment you back. I was a military wife once…. a while back. I can recall those good byes and the heart ache that went along with them. I feel your pain and I’m sending ((hugs)) your way. Thank you for supporting your soldier and Thanks to him for his service. As they say, the hardest job in the military is being a miltary wife. (Your photo speaks a thousand words, it moved me!) Hang in there…..
