Guess what today is? It’s Lawnscaping challenge day of course! AND the fabulous ELLEN HUTSON is our sponsor! I am beyond thrilled to have Ellen with us! She is amazing! I heart her so!!!! And her shipping is amazing. I ordered from her and like 5 hours later my order was shipped, no kidding!
So, this week’s challenge is all about Clean and Simple. The easiest way I can describe that is no fuss! No embellishments, no layers! Just a focal image that pops off a simple background! I decided to throw in a little bit of a distress inked background to add a little bit more color, but the white is still prominent! I decided to pull out an oldie, one of Lawn Fawn’s earlier stamp sets… I heart Love N’ Breakfast so much! I colored in all of the images on the circle die panel.. How cute are those eggs and bacon, NOM NOM NOM. (supplies linked at the end of this post).
I could have left it there and there would have been a whole lot of white to complete this clean and simple card but I decided to add in some more colors that coordinated with the Copic Colored images. Enter my lovely distress inks….. I picked some colors that coordinated well, smooshed them down onto my craft sheet and spritzed it heavily with Pearlized Water. Then, I just smeared my card panel in it carefully not running over into each color! I wanted to maintain that sense of balance to the individual colors… Because the distress inks are formulated to react with water, I got this amazing background! After the inks dried, I flicked on some regular water… I’d be happy to film a video showing you how I did this if you would like! Just let me know in the comments!
So there you have it! All I need is a recipient for this card and I’m good to go! Be sure to head on over to the Lawnscaping blog and check out what the rest of the DT has made!
The photograph was taken using my brand new Foldio I received as a Christmas gift! No filter at all. I simply cropped it to size. So the lighting in this picture is what you can expect from the Foldio with the one strip of LED lights (the offer one with two strips as well)! I blogged about it HERE and had lots of questions… I also did a quick video of mine on my Instagram and Facebook page too. I got mine HERE (best rate available) if you are interested.

I do not see the Linky on the Lawn Fawn blog to enter. Commented about not seeing linky. Like your CAS card with whimsy sentiment.

Love your card. The background fits perfectly with your stamped image.
Would love to see a video.
There is always a fine line when it comes to CAS, lol. I love to tiptoe it too! Super-cute color in the background! Works perfectly. 🙂
