Introducing: The FOLDIO (QUICK VIDEO review) – Portable Light Studio

Hiya peeps! This little goodie I got over Christmas has warranted a post of its own! It is fantastic! It’s a little pop up light box studio that fits right on your desk. It has its own mounted LED lights (you can get one strip of lights or for $10 more you can get two strips). I have the one with the one strip. Its portable and comes with own case. It folds down, you pop into the case and haul that sucker anywhere you want. It pops up with these built in magnets and is so easy to use! Pop it up, snap in the battery and done!  It also comes with 3 foam backdrops (I will only be using the white)… Here is a look at mine with an accidental look at my card for the next Lawnscaping Challenge, lol (was too lazy to take another picture)!!!!

I was going to do a review video but honestly, the company has a great one online!! Go here to check it out the specs and dimensions of it…. Go here to purchase one (better rate, especially if you are PRIME member).  And here is a quick look at their video (see, so easy to assemble):

I honestly can’t say enough good things about this... It’s portable, but I won’t be hauling mine around anywhere. It will be stationary in my craft room for the most part. I think if you fold and unfold it a million times, it might loose some of its sturdiness. The included backdrops are foam so like any foam, I imagine you could dent it up a bit if you put heavy things on it, so use with caution in that regard.  You do have to put the battery in to turn it on/off because there is no switch, but that is perfect for me.. Lily won’t be able to mess with it, ha. And the battery just sticks to the side because of the magnets build in everywhere. It is really is quite an awesome little light studio… Let me know if you have any questions…

I have been wanting something like this too. Need to take better photos but don’t have space for a large one. This looks perfect and love that it folds up for storage.

  17. Awesome Laurel, I have a bigger tent that is a pain because I have to put lights on top and at the sides. I think a New year gift to me! You my friend are an enabler! 😉

  18. I ordered one of these last week from Amazon after reading your post. I love this thing so much that I’ve already backed the Kickstarter for the Foldio 2 coming in March. It’s larger (15″ cube vs. 10″) and will include an electrical adapter for the two strips of LED lights vs. using 9V batteries. I’ll probably end up using the Foldio 2 most of the time at home once I receive it, but the original Foldio is so small and portable that it will be great for taking to card classes, crops, etc. Thanks so much for sharing about this awesome product!!

  19. I just ordered one!!! I can’t wait to see how this works!!!
