Iguana poops strawberry seeds?

By Laurel on April 26, 2008

No, this is not a typo. My son was watching “Go Diego Go” and I walked by the TV and heard this iguana saying that she really had to go… This caught my attention, so I stopped to watch it.

Storyline: Diego & Dora’s Abuelito (grandfather) grows the best strawberries on his farm, which were blown away by a strong wind. Diego was asked to bring some strawberry seeds.  He decides the best way to do this is to have his Green Iguana friend eat a bunch of strawberries and then poop out the seeds once they get to the farm. The Iguana says she “really needs to go” several times during the episode. When they reach the fields, the green iguana prances up and down each row pooping out little piles of seedy poop!  Next scene, a beautiful field of strawberries! I am speechless……

I just watched that episode and was a little grossed out. I don’t usually let me son watch this show and now he will never again. My son loves strawberries and I would hate for him to think that is how our strawberries are grown.
