Hello, and welcome to the Holiday 2016 Essentials by Ellen Release Hop! You should have arrived to me by way of Joni Nina Andaya! Today I have FOUR cards and a full product reveal video to share with you today!!!!!! I’ve also got a giveaway so make sure you read to the end of this post.
My first two cards features the Bird Shapes dies. Let’s take a look at the first one, shall we? I watercolored one of the birds and then applied a coating of Versamark by smooshing the ink pad directly onto the bird die cut and sprinkled on some Judikins Sparkle embossing powder and heat set it to give the bird some serious sparkle! Pairing the bird with a watercolored panel seemed to be the obvious choice for me. To create that background, I used the Ken Oliver color burst (Turquoise and Orchid) onto a piece of watercolored card stock I die cut with the STAX Inside & Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle die.
After adhering the bird to the watercolored panel, I stamped the sentiment from Season to Sparkle and and grabbed the Believe Script word die. I die cut it with black card stock, smooshed the Versamark inkpad yet again onto the die cut piece, sprinkled on that gorgeous Judikins embossing powder and heat set! You can really see the shine from the background, the bird and the word die in this next pic!
The next card uses the other bird from the Bird Shapes die set. I used the same technique with the bird on the above card as I did here. I grabbed a piece of watercolored cardstock and smooshed (I love saying that word) some Peacock Feathers distress ink onto my craft mat and then pressed the left hand corner of the watercolored cardstock into the ink.
The sentiment is from the Season to Sparkle stamp set and the twigs the bird is carrying is from the Homespun Holiday stamp set. I flicked on some Silver Texture spray and added some clear sequins to finish of this card.
My next two cards features the Tree Farm stamps and coordinating dies. I colored and die cut the adorable hedgehog, hot cocoa (or coffee or tea – whatever your pleasure) and scarf. I popped the scarf and hot cocoa cup up with double sided tape. I like to add little pops of dimension here and there where I can.
I die cut a circle from some masking paper and adhered it to the card. I blended Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio and Tumbled Glass to create the sky. I removed the mask and stamped the sentiment from the Tree Farm Stamp set. I flicked on some Perfect Pearls to create the look of stars.
My last card! Are you still with me??? The Raccoon from the Tree Farm stamp set is so cute isn’t he. Or she! It’s a he for today’s purposes! I watercolored him, die cut him and adhered him to a woodgrain circle. He needed a little hat to keep his head warm too! 🙂
I heavily distressed the backgrounds of both panels with some Gathered Twigs and Vintage Photo distress distress ink. The background panel? I wanted to add a little something something. I first die cut the word JOY from the Holidays Words die set and used it as a stencil. I blendedd some Vintage Photo distress ink thru the stencil to get the Joy in the background. Then I stamped the tree from the Homespun Holiday stamp set all all over the panel. 🙂 The Merry Christmas sentiment is from the Season to Sparkle stamp set.
