Can we talk about how awesome this Hinged Thanks die is???? This die was in the latest Essentials by Ellen release from a few weeks ago. When I saw this I immediately texted Julie, told her how awesome this was and pleaded that this become a series of dies… An entire hinged word die series, I mean can you even…….. Now, this die is BACK IN STOCK! It sold out within hours of its debut! I encourage you to RUN to your computer and get it if you want it!
The Ellen Hutson designers used this die is so many ways on release day my mind was blown (they cut it a part and created different words and layouts)!!! However, I am boring and chose to use it just as is! I colored each letter with different colors (I used Copics) and used a black piece of cardstock as the backing! I LOVE the pops of color against the black and white palette. You could also just keep the letters white and add pops of color behind the letter (where the black is) for a fun pop of color! Now, let’s look at the hinged feature of this die….. I think this is amazeballs.
When you run the die thru your die cutting machine, it does not cut a part the letters. It leaves a scored line on the left of each other to create the hinged look. You simply bend the letter to the left a little bit and bam, you have your hinged look. Your card will lay flat going thru the mail so no extra postage (I am really, shall we say frugal so this was important to me, lol)!!!!! I combined a sentiment from the Warm Fuzzies stamp set, added a black strip of card stock to anchor the word and this card was done! Oh, I did add some shine to the letter and black card strip with my Spectrum Noir Glitter pen. Think of all the possibilities there are with this die!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! 🙂

I saw it, too, Laurel, but – alas, didn’t purchase it {dummy me!}. So glad to hear they’ve brought it back! Your card is SO AWESOME, gf! 🙂

Hi Laurel ~ This die is awesome and I was one of the ones who procrastinated the first time around so when I saw that it was back my fingers flew across the keyboard to order it. (And since I’m paying for shipping anyway, one or two other wish list items happened to jump in my cart too!! *gasp*) Laurel speaks = Maggie shops. Shhhh….don’t tell my hubby because he has started rolling his eyes at me! LOVE your card and, like you, I hope that Julie comes up with many more dies in this category. Thanks so much for enabling (& sharing). ~HUGS~
