Hi there!!!

By Laurel on August 4, 2010

Finally. Today I was able to sit down and make a couple of cards…. I have said it before and I will say it again, I do love the sizzix embossing folders. They cover the entire card! No trimming required.  I watched Gina K’s video tutorial on layering nestabilities (she has WONDERFUL technique videos that are very easy to follow) and wanted to give it a shot.  I paired that technique with  Tim Holtz distress inks by sponging the inside of the circle label, leaving the outline of the circle white like Gina K illustrated in the first part of her video. I like the nice framed look it made. I also used my distress ins for the large rectangular label and on the edges of the embossed clouds. I used Lawnfawn’s Swimsuit Season (bathing suit)  and Critters in the Burbs (birds) as well as Hero Arts (sentiment).

Several different people inspired this card!   2sketches4Y latest sketch challenge, The Etsy Inspired Challenge inspired by this photo and Dawn’s Color Cue Challenge,

So, what do you guys think?  Do you like it??? Thanks for stopping by!!!!

Stamps: Lawnfawn, Hero Arts; Inks: Versafine, Tim Holtz distress inks; Other: Sizzix embossing folders, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing folder, PTI cloud dies, PTI Bitty Dots patterned paper,  Copics, corner rounder, Nestabilities
