Hi There!

By Laurel on February 23, 2011

Up for you today is a sweet little girl from the Hero Arts Sweet Wonderful You stamp set. She would be SUPER fun to paper piece but I am still trying to learn how to use my Copics so I decided to practice up on her! With the exception of the ink smudge on the bottom of her cheek (note to self, let ink dry before coloring), I think I did…. ok! Nothing a little touch up here and there with my Mac’s Iphoto couldn’t fix! HA HA HA HA! I am on the video 5 of my online Copic Class so I had no business trying to do this image. She is JUST starting to talk about blending. But typical me got it in my head that I can do it…. Like I said yesterday, I can’t wait to complete my beginner’s course and go back and redo these images. Also, I have never drawn out a frame with a pen before that I have seen on so many other beautiful cards, so I thought it would be fun to do on this CAS card.

I played along in three challenges with this card. The first is Wee Memories! Their challenge this week was source of inspiration. I actually found inspiration in the Jenny’s (Challenge Founder) card. It’s the first card on her post. I was very inspired by the colors she used to PERFECTLY color her image with. And secondly, I am playing with the Simon Says Challenge, which was to add a little coffee and cream colors to your project! By the way, all of the Simon Says DT samples illustrates the perfect coloring. Jealous here I am! 🙂 And finally, the CPS sketch challenge blog!

Have a wonderful day!

PS. My husband has informed me that we are attending a work function next month that requires us to dress up as Saturday Night Live characters. UPDATED: I WAS WRONG. IT IS SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER! ANY HELP WITH COSTUMES FOR THAT? (Am I the only person on the planet that has never watched that show? I don’t enjoy that kind of goofy humor, thus, I have never had any desire to watch it. Now I have to come up with costumes! Lots of twitter and facebook friends have given me wonderful suggestions, all of which I have to google because I have no clue who those characters are! So, if anyone wants to donate two SNL costumes to me, I will not be to proud to accept! HA!!!)

This girlie is super cute, Laurel! Great job on the coloring. You’re really making me want to take these classes now! Lol. I’m thinking about it. Love that hand-drawn frame, too. Gotta try that sometime!

Super cute girl. Nice job coloring. Try using Memento Ink. They work great with copic markers. No smears. As for a costume for Saturday Night Fever. ?? ;( … My hubby suggested you go to website imdb.com, and search for the movie. You can find all the info about the movie, and the characters there.

I think this is adorable, Laurel! I’ve started collecting Copics but haven’t really used them yet. Just got some skin tones, so that is my next step! Not only do I love that little girl image, but also the design of this card. It’s perfect! Best of luck with the challenges, and thanks so much for sharing!
