Hello World Blog Hop, a good cause and a GIVEAWAY

By Laurel on October 1, 2016October 1, 2016

HELLO World! LOL! I have the pleasure of participating in this blog hop that features loads of inspiration as well as good cause! It all started when Chaitali Narla messaged Catherine Pooler looking to partner up to do some good in the world.  She illustrated the Hello World stamp set for Catherine Pooler Designs.  The stamp set features different “Hello” and “Hi” stamps in several languages with fun greetings to create custom sentiments. And up, it comes with a coordinating die set.  All profits from the sale of this stamp set and the coordinating dies from Saturday October 1 – Friday, October 7 will purchase computers and other school supplies for Sean’s classroom in Boston.

The cause:  Sean is a teacher in a school where most kids are on a free and reduced lunch program. The school doesn’t have the budget for a curriculum.  The school doesn’t have a library or computer lab. Sean teaches Civics & Government, Geography, and Debate and he wants to provide his students with the best education so he is working to raise funds for computers for his classroom. Teaching is his heart.  Think of all the things we use our computers for! By helping provide Chromebooks to his students (one Chromebook for every two children is the goal but how awesome would it be if we raised enough money for each student to have their own) you are not only helping these kids have access to academic material and learn in the age of technology (which is our present AND our future), but you are also showing these kids kindness, compassion and  the kind of community support and civic engagement Sean teaches! For more information and to consider donating (or sharing), please visit his fundraising page by clicking HERE!

For todays’ cards, I am using the two new stamps sets that were designed especially for this cause.  The Hello World Stamp Set, The Hello World Coordinating dies  and the Yay Stripes stamp set.

I colored the individual word dies with Copics and applied a heavy coating of the Spectrum Noir Glitter Pen over the top. I had fun pairing the stripes with the polka dots from the Yay Stripes stamp set.

For my next card, I paired the Yay Stripes stamp set with some goodies from the Lovely Notes Stamp of Approval collection, that is now available at the Catherine Pooler store.  I used the Lovely Lattice Background, Wonderful Wreath stamp set and coordinating dies and Hello World Stamp set and coordinating dies.

I decided to go with a Fall theme for this card. I adore the little pinecones and I think the “hello” fits nicely across that wreath.

GIVEAWAY:  I would like to offer up a $25 gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson store for visiting today! Just leave a comment below! Seriously, that’s it!!! 🙂

Your hello fall card is perfect for this blustery Autumn day here in the Pacific Northwest, Laurel. I never would have guessed you copic colored the hello sentiments. They look beautiful. I also didn’t know you could use the Spectrum Noir pen on top of Copics. I need to pick one of those sparkling pens for myself. :). Thank you for being a part of this special blog hop for the kids!

I love the combination of the stripes and polka dots – beautiful card! I ordered that set along with the hello world stamps and dies – so glad to help with a great cause!
