The Color Cue Challenge was quite a challenge for me. A very beautiful palette, just not one I would have typically chosen for myself, so I KNEW I had to participate. Pink, Grey/Black, and White. Pretty, right? I came across this beautiful Hero Arts stamp at my local craft store the other day and I had to have it. I instantly knew I would do some kind of heat embossing/Tim Holtz distress ink combination. Inspired by the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge, I scored a piece of PTI Hibiscus Burst card stock to create a grid lined pattern and gave it a quick sponge over with some distress ink to pull some of the Grey tones of the challenge. I hope you like this card. While this is not my normal style (clean, simple and quirky I like to think), I challenged myself to do something different.
On a side note, don’t you like the turf I have my card sitting on? This was inspired by the ever fabulous Kelly Marie Alvarez (AKA LAWN FAWN)….. She is so sweet. She has been photographing her projects using this and I just had to ask her about it. She was super sweet with her response and my husband just happened to be at the hardware store today so…. Here it is. The turf! 🙂 Thanks Kelly!!!
