Happy Halloween from Lawnfawn and Denami

By Laurel on August 31, 2010

My first Denami stamp ever and I love it. Isn’t that little pumpkin just the cutest??? When I saw this post by Paulina, I knew I had to have the pumpkin. She did a wonderful video tutorial on masking as well. I used her technique to create my group of pumpkins…. I paired the Denami Jack-O-Lantern with Lawnfawn’s Heebies Jeebies… A perfect marriage I’d say…

I started by stamping the background with web in versamark and heat set it with clear embossing powder. I took my Spellbinders Nestabilities and stamped 3 jack-o-lanterns. I masked them and then stamped over the entire label with Hero Arts Friends Definition. I pulled out my ever favorite Tim Holtz Distress Inks and lightly sponged over the entire label… I colored the jack-o-lanterns with Copics. Now I must stress again how much I NEED to take a Copic coloring class!!! Desperately!!!! I adhered the label with a pop dot for added dimension.

I played along with the CardPatterns Sketch Challenge and the 365 Cards Opposites Attract Challenge, where were challenged to use a color we like and a color we don’t like. I am not a big fan of orange…. But I do like using browns. My favorites are Tim Holtz Distress Inks (vintage photo, tea dye) and Versafine Vintage Sepia.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Lawnfawn Heebie Jeebies, Denami Jack-O-Lantern; Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Ink, PTI Dark Chocolate, Versamark; Heat Embosser; clear embossing powder; Spellbinder Nestabilities Labels 8 (I think, ha ha); Pop Dots

Very cute! I am not a big fan of orange either. I like how you used it here though. Thanks for the vote and kind words about my health problems too!
