Good morning friends! This week has been a bit of a blur! On Monday, I woke up to the flu! Really? The flu? And on my birthday to boot! LOL! It is what it is.. I am still slowly recovering but did manage to squeeze in a Periscope on Thursday as part of my Periscope weekly collaboration with The Ton! If you didn’t catch me live, you can see watch it over on Katch! The purple background? That was one of the backgrounds I made live on Periscope! It’s funny because I was sneaking sips of Gingerale and bites of crackers during that scope. I hope no one noticed, lol!
I made this card for my dear friend Chrissie, who celebrated her birthday yesterday!!! Chrissie is someone I met thru this industry and I am forever grateful! She just rocks! I met up with her and her family a few weeks ago when she was vacationing at Disney World! Crowed and hot, but worth the trip to see them! They are awesome and I wish they didn’t live to blasted far away from me. I’m in Florida. They are in Chicago. Pft.
The tiny text background and the gorgeous Peony (and the sentiment come to think of it) are all from The Ton (all linked below in the supply list)! I love The Ton stamps and dies! They have sequins too! They were the first sequins company (that I know of) to make such gorgeous sequin mixes… They also have a challenge going on with lots of prizes celebrating World Cardmaking Day 2015! Click HERE for the details!
The background image was stamped in versamark, heat set with clear embossing powder and then I applied the Wilted Violet (gorgeous purple) distress ink over the top! Oh, and the iron! The iron I never use for clothes??? I pulled it out again to do the Iron Off Embossing technique to remove that embossing powder after the distress ink had dried!
The beautiful peony? Since I absolutely SUCK at fussy cutting, I ran this thru my Dobby (you know, my Brother ScanNCut I named Dobby) and it cut it out beautifully! The same machine I got from HSN on sale is now available on Amazon (Note: in lieu of the online activation card, you will receive a Rhinestone kit) for the same price! Prime Members? Free shipping! I colored the Peony in with some Copics and popped it up on the background panel! Voila… I hope she likes purple, lol!
A few pictures from our recent Disney excursion… In case you may be wondering, my daughter didn’t come with us on this trip because my husband was out of town and I couldn’t let her first trip to Disney be without him. Don’t worry! We are going back next month to make up for it.
