Googly Eyes and Jingle Bells

By Laurel on August 24, 2011

You guessed it! Another card for my big boy! He asked me today.   “How do they cards get in my lunchbox…. I wonder…” – TEE HEE! I am glad he likes them… Want to do one a day for the first week! Today’s card, I pulled out all the bells and whistles while keeping it very clean and simple… I think he will love the googly eyes and jingle bells on this critter!

I stamped the ledger background from Lawn Fawn with Jenni Bowlin’s Soap Powder ink. My son’s favorite color is blue so I had to incorporate that into his card. I tied some twine around the jingle bell and cut it to appear as if the dog was wearing a scarf. And of course, added some googly eyes for a finishing touch. I used a Jenni Bowlin Paint Dabber around the edges and absolutely love how it looks against the kraft cardstock! The alphabet is from a retired Stampin’ Up set. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches. I won it in a giveaway by the fabulously talent Chari! (Want some inspiration, check out her blog).

I know, you are bored by now but I did want to ask you….  Have you heard about a new challenge site for youngins? NO? Let me tell you. It’s called Young Crafters Unite and their first challenge went live today. Anyone can play along. Young, young at heart. You can enter the challenge up to three times, so I am entering this card into their challenge and definitely see two more cards in my future!

I am also entering this into a fun challenge I just discovered through the fabulous Karen Baker!  Less Is More! HELLO! Just my style. Clean and Simple. This particular challenge is “things that move”! So glad I found them! Thanks Karen!!!
