Girls Just Wanna Have FUN, Featuring Lawnfawn

By Laurel on July 16, 2010

Hello! It has been a LONG time since I was able to sit down and make a card. This morning, my son was at vacation bible school so I took this opportunity to make a card. While this card can probably be made in 10 minutes, it took me about an hour. I know, sad. I broke out my new set, Lawnfawn’s Swim Suit Season. It is very appropriate because it is like 100 degrees here in Jacksonville, Florida and today we are going to the pool! There are so many cute images from this set (only $15 people), it was hard to choose which images to work with, which means I will have to make another card using the other images! 🙂 I tried to make the beach ball 3d dimensional and colored it with COPICS and used the colorless blender to create a pattern, but not sure that shows well in this photograph. I was inspired by the EBTKS sketch challenge and WPlus9’s Color Cue Challenge.

I still haven’t uploaded my favorite pics from our Denver trip so stay tuned for that. I bungey jumped! Well, I jumped on a trampoline really high while connected to all these ropes and harnesses, but still, I bungey jumped. For those of you that don’t know, I have an INCREDIBLE fear of heights. And this trip was all about heights. We went to a ski resort for the day and they had a ton of activities for the summer. I rode a ski lift up to the tip top of a mountain and thought I was going to pass out. Seriously, I was on that lift, stiff as a statue, singing amazing grace in my mind. I was so freaking scared. My son, who is 4 years old, called me a weenie! Seriously?! A weenie. Well, when it comes to heights, and bugs, and roller coasters, and things that spin around, well, I guess I AM a weenie! HA HA! Have a great day…

    Hey “weenie”…..
Hahaa… jk….. Your little ski-lift story was funny.
But i’m glad you were able to do those fun activities, despite your fear of heights.
Your card came out super cute! I really like how you made the pattern on the beach ball with your colorless blender. That’s such a cool idea! I love it! =)

So cute! I am lovin’ that set too! I know what you mean about being scared of heights! I am too and when we go skiing and have to go on the lifts I sing Praise songs too! 🙂 I did parasail a couple of years ago to try and help the heights issue and I must say…it did help! Now I need to get over the flying issue and I can go more places! 🙂 Thanks so much for playing with us in the EBTKS challenge! 🙂
