Ok! For today’s project, I created a fun background using the Faber Castell Gelatos. I adore these little guys! You can watch the video right here on the blog OR over on my Youtube Channel in HD by clicking HERE!
TIP: ANYTIME YOU USE GELATOS, I RECOMMEND APPLYING A COATING OF GESSO TO YOUR CARDSTOCK. IT CREATES A SMOOTH AND BLENDABLE SURFACE FOR THE GELATOS!
I love starting with white cardstock, a blank canvas if you will, and just see where the product takes me. My vision was something completely opposite of what resulted. Funny how things work out. After blending the gelatos, I added a few swipes of gesso using my finger for a more mixed media look. The sentiment is from the Bravo stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays. (if you ever shop at CAS-ual Fridays, make sure to always use discount code LAUREL2016 to save 15% on your purchase).
I made a second card, a more toned down version lol, using the Faber Castell gelatos as well! 🙂
The next video along the hop to check out is my dear friend Nicole Picadura!

I enjoy playing with gelatos, too. They are fun and take me back to finger painting as a kid. Thank you for sharing.
You are the gelato whisperer to me Laurel!!! I first saw you use them and I had to try them. When you pulled out that big box of them I sighed with happiness. Great card!!
I was amazed with the video because I just bought my first set of gelatos and now can’t wait to try them out. Your color choices were beautiful and so vibrant.
always been afraid of gelatos. thanks for sharing!
