Sometimes, all you need a good ‘ole sentiment to make some really fun birthday cards! For these cards, I used the sentiments from the That Thing You Did sentiment set from Ellen Hutson and hand painted some birthday cakes and make some really great, and funny, birthday cards! This first card is my favorite because I love the white cake against the gold washed background.
This next card features a few painted stripes to form the cake and then the addition of flowers and leaves here and there. Yes, I need to work on painting leaves.. They sorta look like blobs right now, but hey… the sentiment is funny.
If you aren’t a painter, you can draw the cakes with a pen or even some Crayola markers. Get creative! The recipient will love it…..
