Flyin up high with the clouds

By Laurel on July 17, 2010

Two days in a row! Are you guys falling out of your chairs yet?!?  In yesterday’s post, I talked about how deathly afraid of heights I am and the funny experiences I had going up on the ski lift while on our vacation. So  today, it only felt right to pull out Papertrey Ink’s Fly Away set that I got in the mail last week.  The moment I saw this tiny set, I knew I had to have it! Aside from  the irony that I even like airplanes being scared of heights, it was a no brainer because my husband is a pilot and my son’s bedding in Pottery Barn’s Airplanes set! 🙂

It is 3:00PM and I am still sitting in my PJ’s. My husband is playing electrician and trying to find a way to wirelessly connect our desktop into the desk that sits in the front room of our house. You see, about 2 years ago I bought this amazing computer armoire and it has stored all of my crafting goodies since day one! Yea, not the intent for the purchase so I guess its time to let go! Which means, I will probably have a lot of stuff to get rid of… I’ll list it all here on my blog so stay tuned. I’ll be getting rid of supplies, stamp sets and more I am sure…. Maybe I’ll even have a givewaway or two!

Now onto the card. I was inspired by the latest Sweet Sunday Sketch and the the Etsy Inspired Challenge, inspired by this photo.  I love the blue and sparkle, which is why I chose the color scheme and the the addition of glitter in the clouds.   Now that is what you can’t see from the photograph (I took about 30 of the same picture using different lighting and I still couldn’t get it to show), is the clouds are made out of a combination of flock and glitter It really does sparkle in person. I used the PTI’s Pure Poppy  twine paired with Spring Rain Bitty dots patterned paper. I wish I could show off those clouds more because that is the thing I am most proud of with this card, but I guess you will have to take my word for it! Have a great Saturday!!!
