Essentials by Ellen New Release Blog Hop: Cards, Video and GIVEAWAY

By Laurel on February 21, 2017August 9, 2017

Welcome to the February 2017 Essentials by Ellen Release blog hop! Today I have a few cards, a full reveal video, and a GIVEAWAY to share with you today! I made a TON of cards with this release, but will only share one today and the rest over the next week or two so you aren’t overwhelmed! You should have hopped over to me from Sandy Allnock.  This is a jammed packed post so let’s get to it and check out the first card I created. Who doesn’t like a little bit of “whipstick” as my daughter calls it…. My favorite lipstick color is red believe it or not. Some people like to wear necklaces or scarfs to dress up. I like putting on a little bit of red whipstick.

Speak of lipsticks! Adorable! And why not a rainbow assortment of lipsticks?  I grabbed the Make it Beautiful stamp set and stamped out the lipsticks, colored them with Copics and die cut them with the coordinating die!  I wanted to show that the Swing and Slide dies could be used for cards other than slider cards! For this card, I just used it as a background. The lipsticks sure would have been cute swinging and spinning, but for those that might be a little leery of making slider cards, I wanted to show you a different way of using it.

The panel behind the slider cut out was made with distress inks. I adhered that panel to a pink card base and put some foam dimension behind each lipstick and adhered them along the slider line! While it looks like a slider card, it’s not! The lipsticks don’t move. I added a bit of shimmer with the Spectrum Noir glitter overlay pen to the lipsticks and to the pink card base showing thru.  I also flicked on some shimmer spray for some added shine! The stars are from the Wonky Backdrops stamp set.

The next stop on the hop is the fabulous  Heather Campbell! If you get lost along the hop, please visit the CLASSroom blog for a complete list of all the designers.

If you’d like to see a video on either of these cards, please let me know in the comments.

GIVEAWAY:  I have the pleasure of giving away any  in stock Essentials by Ellen brand stamp set  (Maximum value $25 USD) at Ellen Hutson.  To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment on today’s post by Tuesday, February 28!  There is also an AMAZING Grand Giveaway on the CLASSroom!  To enter, be sure to leave a comment there, too!  ALL winners will be announced at the CLASSroom on Friday, 3/3! Please check there on that date to see if you are a winner and for further details on claiming your prize!

I wish I could see the Sparkle card in person! It is beautiful in the picture, but I know all of the sparkling goodness just won’t show up in any photo. And, your lipstick card is so clever! Using the slider die to basically add dimension was such a great idea! I love your cards and thank you for sharing them!
