Banner using Lawn Fawn and lots of distress techniques

Yup! I know! I made something other than a card! That like rarely ever happens! But when I saw this die from Lawn Fawn, I knew I had to make something for my son’s room! I decided to combine the adorable banner with my love of distress ink techniques to create it. Each banner has a different technique on it, but uses the same base color, Faded Jeans. I colored the panels by pressing the distress pad directly onto the panel so I would have a dark even color over the entire panel.  I had to use blue as that is my son’s favorite color!!!!!!

Let’s talk about the similarities of each banner panel.  All of the shapes were die cut from the same die set using watercolor paper. The letters came from the newest alpha die set from Lawn Fawn, Louie’s ABCS! They are fab and big and just awesome!  I heat embossed all the letters with this gorgeous platinum embossing powder.   And I colored each of the circle dies with different distress ink colors…. The banners, the circle and a heart all come in this one die set.

Let’s look at each banner panel individually with the technique I used explained below each photo:

♥This banner showcases the water flicking technique… I just rubbed my Faded jeans pad directly onto the banner panel and flicked a bunch of water onto it using my finger!

♥I laid this stencil over the top and dabbed Picket Fence distress paint into the opens to create this textury yumminess.

♥I used the Distress Spritzer and the Faded Jeans distress marker to create this misted background and then blending some ink from the distress pad over the top…

♥I laid this stencil over the top and rubbed over the stencil with a wet paper towel to  transfer the image from the stencil onto the panel.

♥And for the last panel, I added drops of water to the panel and then pounced a whole bunch of Perfect Pearls powder over the top!
