*Video – Die Cut Techniques: 6 ways to use 1 die cut

By Laurel on April 6, 2019

Today I have a very fun video showing you 6 different ways to use 1 die cut to create stunning cards filled with shine and dimension!!!! The Leaf Medallion die cut from Altenew is so very versatile and gorgeous that I thought it was perfect time to use for the fun video hop I am participating in today… There are lots of prizes so be sure to head over to my youtube channel for all of the details and to leave a comment!  This post also completes Level 3 of the Altenew Certification Program, woo hoo!!! Be sure to check out the Altenew Academy for loads of inspiration and classes.   Onward to the video!!!!!

I used so many different mediums and techniques to create so many cards all using the same die cut! Isn’t that unreal? In looking at the photo above, it is amazing to see how different each card is yet I’m using the same die cut. I used some of my favorite mediums ever to add some pizzaz to each card! Do you have a favorite?

The trio of cards below was made with the same “diy stencil” so I got 3 cards from one….. Snd that shimmer????? MICA MIST!!!! It’s incredible on white cardstock AND dark cardstock!

My love of Wow Embossing powders really shines in this next card! I love THIS embossing powder. The Metallic paired with the Aqua.. Yep! It’s a keeper.

Oh the texture and shine on this next one….. A little offsetting of the die cut panel against the dimensional background (thank you Metallix Gel)… Keeping some of the insides of the die in tact is a great way to stretch your die cut and get a totally different look!

And lastly, a little dry embossing with the die to finish off this set of cards… Of course, I had to throw in a rainbow of some kind somewhere!!!!!!!

So, what do you think??? Do you have a favorite card?? Did you learn a new way to use a die cut? Let me know in the comments! I would love to hear from you!!!!
