In today’s current economy we need a few tricks to make our money stretch. So today I thought I would share with you a quick and inexpensive trick for distress paper. Crumpling!!
For day’s project you will need: a water spritzer, and the paper of your choice.
Step 1: Lightly wet the paper. (Wetting the paper allows you to manipulate the paper better and keeps the paper from tearing. Do NOT over wet as the paper will become too difficult to crumple.)
Step 2: Crumple paper several times in the hands, opening and recrumpling as you go.
Step 3: Flatten and allow to dry.
And here’s the completed project. For this effect you can use pattern paper or cardstock. It just depends on the look you are going for. You can layer several crumpled pattern papers and cardstock circles for a handmade flower. You can crumple a border or even a photo (although you will want to skip the wetting step so the colors in your photo don’t run). If you decide to give this a try, we’d love to see your completed project. Just link us to your project within the comments below!
