Howdy ho. It’s been what, a few days since I’ve talked about the Color Bursts, lol??? I’m back today to share a super quick tip video (and when I mean quick, I mean all of 3 minutes) and show you how you can use your color bursts with embossing paste! See the box? See all the detail on the box? (It’s this die by Neat and Tangled by the way).
The box was made from a die cut and this background panel created with the color bursts and embossing paste. And I have lots panel left over to make other projects with! SCORE!
Unfortunately, I didn’t get the card making portion of the project on video, I thought it was recording but it wasn’t, SOB!!!! But, I did get the technique of using the bursts and pastes on there so I thought I would share that with you all. You can watch it right here or over on my youtube channel in HD!
And here is a final close up of the card!
- I dry embossed the card panel with this awesome embossing folder
- Added some critters from the newly released Party Animals stamp set and coordinating die set from Lawn Fawn to the inside of the box so it appears as if they are popping up out of the box with presents and balloons! SURPRISE!!!!! Some of the critters are adhered flat and others are popped up with some foam dimension….. Those critters were watercolored previously. I had a day and just watercolored the heck out of all kinds of images and stored them in a bowl on my desk, lol!
- A little bit of twine and flicks of watercolor to finish it off. How stinkin’ cool is the texture on that box! Yup, love!
Goodies used:
Laurel,
Your card is awesome…love the box color and technique you used to color box.
Super fun!!!
Love the great color/texture on the box, so fun and bright and bold!
Really fun, Laurel! I thought of something while I was watching your video. I’ve never tried this, but: after your textured side was dry, what about flipping the whole sheet over and watercoloring the other side, to get double-sided paper??
So dreamy! Love it!! 🙂
Great card. Can’t wait to get mine. Thank you for sharing.
Eeek! So awesome, so cool, so cute! Love the look of the paper using the embossing paste with the Color Bursts!! The box you made is so stinkin cute! Love the new Lawn Fawn stamp set- It’s definitely on my wish list 🙂 Thank you for the great vid tip!
